Did you ever wonder what was "behind the green door"?
 

Shakin Stevens never told us in the 1980's pop song that, in the middle of Tamworth town centre, in sight of Tamworth Castle, behind an historic green door, lies the peace and tranquillity of Tamworth Castle Bowling Club.  

We are located on Lady Bank, where the Fazeley Road meets Holloway, down the hill from the Castle Hotel.  You'll find us hidden away behind that green door.
 

Open to both young and old, visitors are welcome to take the weight off their feet, sit and watch the action, sample drinks from our bar, and join in the fun.  

A full calendar features Family Fun Days, Open Days and off-beat tournaments such as the Left Handed Only competition.  

The location is stunning, and the bar is, to say the least, value for money.

In winter months, members have been known to use the clubhouse as a home-from-home when shopping, playing in the park with kids, or just somewhere to come and have a cup of coffee and a chat.

The clubhouse is open to members all year round, for drinks, coffee, darts, dominoes even during the closed season. The bowling season lasts from March to the middle of October.   

Bowls is gentle exercise, and a fun or competitive activity.  You'll be alongside good company, 200 years of history with a little fresh air thrown in for good measure.
