	Privacy and seclusion Our grounds are surrounded by an historic wall away from the madding crowd, allowing members and visitors of all abilities to try their hand at crown green bowling. The privacy of our location allows newcomers to try their hand at a new sport without the fear of onlookers. We are able to loan bowls to newcomers. All we ask is you wear flat soled footwear to protect the green. We all had to start somewhere and everyone can play following a five minute explanation. Web visitor counter:

Shakin Stevens’ never told us in the 1980’s pop song that, in the middle of Tamworth

town centre, under the shadow of Tamworth castle, behind an historic green door, lies the peace and tranquillity of Tamworth Castle Bowling Club.

We are located on Lady Bank, where the Fazeley Road meets Holloway, down the hill from the Castle Hotel. You'll find us hidden away "behind the green door".

Open to both young and old, visitors are welcome to take the weight off their feet, sit and watch the action, sample drinks from our bar, or even join in the fun.

A full calendar features Family Fun Days, Open Days and off-beat tournaments such as the Left Handed Only competition.

Food is served on match days and the bar is, to say the least, value for money.

In winter months, members have been known to use the clubhouse as a home-from-home when shopping, playing in the park with kids, or just somewhere to come and have a cup of coffee and a chat.

Membership fees are affordable and places are available. The clubhouse is open to members all year round, for drinks, coffee, darts, dominos or even a game of bowls..

The bowling seasons lasts from March to the middle of October. Come a wander down to Line Tamworth Castle Bowling Club and see for yourself just how rewarding and relaxing a game of bowls can be.

Bowls is gentle exercise, and a fun or competitive activity. You’ll be alongside good company, 200 years of history with a little fresh air thrown in for good measure.
